 Formed
in 1998 the League of Friends currently has over 150 members
from all over the world. The volunteers arrange fund raising
activities such as the Rudyard Lake Festival every August
and a spectacular sound and light show on Bonfire Night, as
well as classic car shows and other events. They also supply
a discounted marquee hire service to their members.
 In
2004 they purchased the trip boat 'Honey', a diesel powered
1942 captain's cutter launch which had been lovingly restored
by its previous owner. The volunteer crew has been fully trained
to operate the trip boat, which carries up to 12 passengers
and operates at weekends throughout the summer months. Private
bookings can be made at any time of the year. A live narrative
accompanies the scenic cruises.
The Friends' volunteers support both Rudyard Lake Ltd and
the Trust. Without their efforts and financial support many
of the improvements at Rudyard would not have been possible.
