2007 Photo Competition Results
We had some excellent entries for the photo competition and had difficulty selecting the winners. After a lot deliberation it was a close decision but there has to be a winner.
The winner is Cliff Beardmore with his superb picture of runners along the old railway track.

The runner up is Trevor Lewis with his lovely picture of sunrise from the Jetty. The winners may collect their prizes from Ray in the ranger's office.

Judges Comments
Photographs are all about light, and being there at the right time! Both the winning photos emphasise these points.
Cliff has captured a great atmosphere in his “Runner's” picture; the light catching the rail track draws your eye in to the picture and as it's taken early morning the mist adds to the drama. Take the figures out of this picture and it would become ordinary. Well done Cliff.
Trevor has got up early to take the “Sunrise over the dam” shot. This picture is enhanced by the frost on the jetty the lovely line of cloud reflecting the sunlight, and the position and detail of the boats. Well done Trevor.
2008 Competition
We will be announcing the details of our new 2008 photo competition here soon.
It will be on a seasonal basis with results announced four times a year. There will be an overall winner for 2008 and a trophy we hope. The winner of this will be announced in Jan 2009.
Cliff has demonstrated that you don't have to include the lake in your picture to take a winning shot. For next year we would like to see more pictures of different parts of the lake and its surroundings, flora and fauna, after all there are over 5 miles of shoreline. All entries must be taken in 2008 in the Rudyard Area.
Happy snapping!
